It wasn't exactly epic, but the raptor flight did pick up a bit after yesterday's low point of 14. Today, the count reached 82, with a couple of Osprey, 2 Bald Eagles, 2 Northern Harriers, 23 Sharp-shinned Hawks, a juvenile Northern Goshawk, 25 Broad-winged Hawks, 19 Red-tailed Hawks, 7 Rough-legged Hawks, and 1 American Kestrel.Based on current weather forecasts, it seems reasonable to expect this upward trend to continue over the next few days. For Monday, sunny weather and light winds are forecast - which will be nice with or without birds - but the best hawk days are likely to be Tuesday and Wednesday.
